Yellow Fever is a disease spead by mosquitoe bites. It is present in parts of Africa, Central and South America and the Caribbean.

You will be advised during your consultation if you are travelling to a Yellow Fever Zone and offered the vaccination.

Aged 60 years or older and visiting areas with risk of yellow fever transmission

Individuals who are aged 60 years and older, are at increased risk for YF vaccine associated adverse events, and this risk appears to increase with increasing age.

In people aged 60 years or older, due to a higher risk of life-threatening side effects, the vaccine should be given only when there is a significant and unavoidable risk of acquiring yellow fever infection. In these cases we are able to offer you an exemption certificate. Speak to us to find out more.
